Digital save the dates
Tell guests the date now and fill in the rest later. It is the same link from the save the date to the full invitation, so the details are always in one place.

What to ask your guests
A save the date usually skips RSVP. Two optional questions help with planning, though: The reply form always asks for each guest's name, yes, maybe or no, how many are coming and which parts of the day they will join. Add any of these as your own questions, as a choice or a short answer, and you get a count for each choice:
- Will you probably be able to come? (yes, maybe, no)
- Will you need a hotel room?
When to send it
Send save the dates six to eight months before a local wedding and ten to twelve months before a destination wedding or one over a holiday weekend.
Paper invitations with a QR code
Printing magnets or cards? The code opens the same page you will later turn into the invitation, so a card printed today still shows the latest details next spring. How RSVP QR codes work.
Make your save the date free
One link with the details, a map, calendar buttons and RSVP that adds up the replies for you. Print the QR code on paper invitations too. No ads, no fee.

Can I turn the save the date into the invitation?
Yes. Keep the same link, add the schedule and switch RSVP on when you are ready.
Should a save the date include the venue?
Include the city at least, so guests can plan travel. The venue can come later.
Do I send save the dates to everyone?
Only to people you are sure you will invite. A save the date is a promise of an invitation.
